I create images of human beings in a metaphorical sense. These images become symbols,
integrating philosophical concepts and feelings for my work. Through such symbolization of my
work, I suggest that the common denominator is that the essence of human beings is always in
process. For a human being, every moment is in a process and continuity of becoming. This
situation is represented by human bodies, which always have the potentiality of changing.
The density of these patterns created from the lines constitutes a human figure in my paintings,
and the same pattern is painted on a human body in my video works. The pattern makes a human
body look like branches of a tree or feathers of a bird. With the feeling of mysterious ambiguity,
the upward tendency given by the image of a tree, which is growing, or a bird, which is soaring
higher and higher, reflects a human being's entelechy.
The ways I express my ideas and feelings never have material limitations. I'm exploring a wide
range of art-styles and techniques in creative ways crossing the boundaries of dimensional qualities
and media in concrete levels. By way of example, the painting is applied on real human bodies
( Alchemist-L , Rotte Tree 2004-18 , Humanoid Herb ), and the humans who are painted on their
bodies perform with body languages ( Rotte Tree 2004-18 , Humanoid Herb ). Also, two-dimentional
paintings are converted to an installation work ( Project: Floating in the Air ), and gathered photos
                        become a video diverting a temporal dimension ( Alchemist-L ).
