Synesthesia; about Tactile Sensation DVD, Color, Silent, 259-second loop, 2007 |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The sensations of human bodies are connected to each other. Feelings and sensations of human beings are related to self-interpretation within the environments they live. The senses, such as visual, tactile, auditory, smell, and taste join with others in the human imagination and combine in varying ratios with perceptions of the world based on individual physiology, social and cultural context, and physical surrounding. Thus, the sensations of the human body are not epidermal matters. In synesthetic reaction to sensation, we can catch how to feel, recognize and understand the world.I try to provoke viewers' preoccupied experience of one sensation by the other sensation. This video is intended to evoke tactile sensation with only visual stimulations. Sensual movement of vivid yolk and hairs on skin appear. |
